On October 10th to 11th the European Angel Investment Summit (EAIS) was held in Brussels. The annual conference is the meeting point for early-stage investors, entrepreneurs and change-makers to fuel Europe’s growth. One of the summit’s co-organisers was partner EBAN, responsible for bringing the investment opportunities closer to the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator.
The EAIS has allowed participants a glimpse into the future, a chance to influence the course of tomorrow and a unique opportunity to connect meaningfully with others that enable innovations to come to life. The event allowed EBAN to leverage its network of business angels, incubators, accelerators, and other organisations to involve them in the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, either by providing acceleration services or connecting them with relevant public and private investors.
The summit featured keynote speakers from prominent public institutions, including the European Commission. Among them were Kerstin Jorna, Director General at DG GROW, Gabriele Mazzini, Team Leader at AI Act at DG CONNECT, and Michal Kosina and Alessandro Tappi, who represented the European Investment Fund.
At the summit, startups fueling Europe’s growth, working on climate tech, space, health and more, pitched their innovations before the audience. Attendees of this must-attend event for business angels are typically 50% business angels, 20% VCs, CVCs and PEs, 10% start-up entrepreneurs, 10% policymakers, and 10% other start-up ecosystem stakeholders.
The 2023 Summit had 500+ attendees, making it a successful event to involve these stakeholders in the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator’s ecosystem.
