The EU-LAC Digital Accelerator was featured at the closing event of the ClimAccelerator’s programme.
The session was held virtually on 6 May 2025 and brought together key ecosystem players to explore actionable market, knowledge, and financing opportunities for climate-focused ventures in Central America and the Caribbean.
Rubén Carrandi, Senior Project Leader at EBN representing the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, presented the project’s unique model for open innovation to connect corporations from one region with startups and SMEs from another to co-create digital solutions addressing real-world challenges.
With over 79 challenges already live on its platform and a strong network of business accelerators, the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator provides access to international markets and key support in areas like intellectual property, product roadmap development, and investor readiness. These services have enabled numerous cross-border success stories in healthcare, logistics, and smart construction. “This is about more than innovation—it’s about creating meaningful international alliances that generate impact”, he noted.
The session, featuring organisations like Acceso and MANA Tech, was designed to expose startups to international opportunities, including financing, partnerships, and market access. It served as a networking hub for the 21 climate-focused businesses supported through ClimAccelerator’s Central America and Caribbean programme.
