SACYR is a global group, listed in the Ibex 35, Spain’s stock market index. They have activities in more than 20 countries on four continents, where they undertake innovative, high-value projects. Background information
SACYR has spent years building different types of infrastructure prioritising economic and social growth. However, today they are prioritising future growth based on sustainability. Infrastructure and everything that goes with it, cannot only focus on building from scratch, but also on adapting and converting everything we have created to date to this new standard.
Challenge Description
SACYR is looking in the innovation ecosystem for solutions to adapt these infrastructures (roads, hospitals, transport hubs, water plants…) to a new paradigm where technology, innovation and customer centricity plays a key role in meeting society’s demands.
SACYR is interested in smart capabilities applied to operations and decarbonization of the industry in the following activities:
- Linear infrastructure such as roads, bridges and tollways
- Social Infrastructure such as Hospital Management, University Campus and Transport Hubs
- Construction activities towards linear infrastructure and buildings
- Industrial Sites related to the whole water cycle (desalination plants, sanitary plants, wastewater, water distribution, etc.)
Solution needed
SACYR is willing to explore solutions in the following areas:

- Green energy towards net-zero: Energy Efficiency, Renewables, Energy storage solutions
- Climate solutions: Carbon reduction, circular technologies, water solutions, net-zero approach
- Data leverage, connectivity and automation: IoT, Data Analytics, Predictive Models, IA, ML, RPAs, applied robotics, satelite…
- Transport Infrastructure for: autonomous, connected, electric and shared solutions.
- Project Management: Activity monitoring, Project monitoring and control
- Health & Safety: people safety, equipment, training, environment (noise, odor…)
- User experience
- Information exchange between users, vehicles and infrastructure
- Materials: new sustainable materials, materials monitoring
- Fleet and machinery: Sustainable fleets, retrofitting solutions for machinery
