TechBalance (Brazil) and Habicuidados (Portugal) have officially embarked on their acceleration journey, leveraging technology to enhance healthcare management and patient care in Europe and beyond.
A Story of an EU-LAC Partnership
TechBalance is a Brazilian company specializing in health technology. They have built a digital physiotherapist that assesses, monitors and cares for the physical and integral health of adults and seniors, for a more productive, longer and happier life. They believe that prevention and a healthy lifestyle are the most efficient ways to avoid musculoskeletal and chronic diseases, which is why their health promotion and exercise services return 2.8X the investment of health plans and HRs, ensuring a better quality of life and well-being for people.
TechBalance offers multiplatform solutions and patented technology to assess risk, measure fragility and guide decision-making. TechSafe is an in-person falls risk assessment aimed at people aged 60+, and TechSports is an in-person assessment of injury risk, physical performance and performance aimed at preventing injuries in companies and among people who practice sports.
Thanks to the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, TechBalance will validate its solution TechSports in real environments in Portugal, positioning it for certification and commercialization in Europe.
A Cross-border Impact
Habicuidados is a Portuguese institution focused on the domestic and family market that focuses its activity on Home Support for the Elderly and their families. From personal care to small technical maintenance, including the use of remote supervision technologies, Habicuidados provides all the necessary services for an active and comfortable family life.
Habicuidados places Technical Assistants in Users’ homes who provide all types of Home Support Services. Aimed at self-employed individuals, they offer technological solutions for remote monitoring and geolocation. They also provide pre-formatted domestic service programs that cover the most common situations.
The objective of this partnership is to support the validation of the TechBalance Wellbeing platform developed by TechBalance in the Portuguese population, aimed at promoting activity and sports in all types of people through the TechSport platform, this way increasing the products that Habicuidados has to promote health online. Habicuidados and TechBalance will receive from the project expert advise to certify the software in Europe, to expand the solution in Europe, and to get access to investors to grow in the market.
The Acceleration Journey with EU-LAC Digital Accelerator
To ensure a smooth rollout of the solution in Portugal, this partnership will benefit from a range of acceleration services provided by the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator. These services will guide the collaboration through the following key milestones:
- Certification and Validation: The TechBalance solution (TechSports) will be validated in a real healthcare setting in Portugal, ensuring compliance with European standards and preparing for commercial scaling.
- Pilot Projects: Pilot projects will be designed and implemented with Habicuidados to test and refine the solutions in a live environment. This will help optimize the tools for widespread use.
- Internationalization and Soft-landing Plan: A detailed internationalization and soft-landing plan will support the entry of TechBalance’s products into other European Union countries, providing guidance on scaling and market entry.
- Access to Investment and Scaling: The accelerator will also provide access to European investors, ensuring that TechBalance can secure the funding needed to scale its solution throughout Europe.
