On 16 April 2026, the Delegación de la Unión Europea en Ecuador, RECID (Red Ecuatoriana de Cooperación Internacional y Desarrollo), and the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator hosted the webinar:
“Escala tu negocio: impulsa alianzas estratégicas con socios en Europa y el Caribe”
The session focused on a practical question: how can companies in Ecuador use international partnerships to scale, access new markets, and validate their solutions?
A joint effort across public and private actors
The session began with Andrés Gutiérrez León, Co-founder of RECID, who delivered the opening remarks about the context around international cooperation as a growth lever for Ecuadorian companies, stressing the role of networks like RECID in connecting local actors with global opportunities
How the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator programme enables collaboration
The session outlined how the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator translates international cooperation into concrete business outcomes:
- The Matching Platform, a B2B marketplace featuring close to 2,000 startups and more than 50 corporate challenges
- The open innovation call
- A structured process to move from first contact to a proof of concept
Financial support to reduce risk
Selected startups can access up to €10,500 in funding to implement their proof of concept. This helps move faster from idea to real-world validation, without bearing the full financial burden.
What companies should take away
Companies that want to grow beyond their domestic market should:
- Look for partners with complementary capabilities
Prioritise real-world testing over theoretical planning
Use structured programmes to avoid stalled collaborations
