On 21 April 2026, the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) hosted a webinar focusing on Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The session brought together ecosystem leaders and practitioners to share practical insights on cross-regional collaboration and international scaling.
The agenda opened with “Setting the scene: EBN’s approach to Internationalisation”, presented by Laura Lecci, who outlined EBN’s strategic vision and its commitment to supporting internationalisation and cross-border collaboration. This was followed by “Building bridges between Europe and LAC”, where Rubén Carrandi shared insights on EU–LAC cooperation initiatives and key lessons learned from ongoing collaboration efforts.
The session then moved into a discussion on “Understanding the LAC ecosystem: challenges and opportunities”, moderated by Livia Marcantonio, with contributions from Valeria Centinaro (Promos Italia) and Alejandro López Rethen (Baliera). The conversation focused on regional dynamics, engagement strategies, and partnership models for organisations entering LAC markets.
A dedicated segment followed on “Deep dive into the Caribbean specificities”, moderated by Covadonga Rayon (EBN), with input from César Yammal (Innovos Group) and Leo Naut (Caribbean Export Development Agency). The discussion highlighted the Caribbean’s role as a strategic sub-region, including its business environment and its importance for international collaboration.
The final part of the webinar featured “EU–LAC Cooperation in Action: ESO Perspectives from the Field”, a round table moderated by Leo Naut with contributions from Henrique Reis (Supera Parque), Pablo Ignacio Peralta (Incubadoras LAT) and Alejandro Pantoja (OpenBeauchef). The session closed with “Dos and Don’ts for Entering LAC Markets”, distilling practical guidance for organisations aiming to expand internationally.
Overall, the webinar provided a structured view of EU–LAC internationalisation, combining strategic perspectives with field-level insights. The exchange reinforced the importance of ecosystem understanding, structured cooperation and practical experience in enabling successful cross-border expansion.
