On 21 October 2026, Alberto Camarero, Open Innovation Consultant at the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, met the Bcombinator team in Bilbao.

Bcombinator is an accelerator and venture capital firm based in Barcelona.

This autumn, it is running the Bilbao Acceleration Program 2026, which brings international startups to the BAT B Accelerator Tower to prepare them for expansion into Europe.

The meeting looked at how those startups could use open call 6 of the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator.

The discussion centred on what the programme offers startups.

Selected startups can receive grants of up to €10,500 to develop and run a proof of concept at their corporate partner’s premises.

Each partnership then receives six months of structured acceleration support.

For open call 6, the programme prioritises partnerships developing an artificial intelligence solution, although any digital technology is eligible.

Startups without a corporate partner can look for one on the Matching Platform before applying.

The meeting also prepared the ground for a presentation to the programme’s startups.

Alberto Camarero will present the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator to the Bcombinator cohort next week.

Open call 6 runs from 21 September to 30 November 2026.

It is open to corporates and startups, or small and medium-sized enterprises, that already work together and are based in different regions across the European Union, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
