The EBN Annual Congress 2023, hosted by the EBN – European Business and Innovation Centre Network, took place in Brno, Czechia in June. It is the largest gathering of European incubators, accelerators, science parks, innovation centres and innovation supporters. The event included investor-led workshops, keynotes, pitching sessions, round table workshops and other activities.
The EBN Annual Congress is a platform that brings together the world’s most prominent business angels, entrepreneurs, and opinion makers to share innovative ideas and trends, enabling networking and deal-making with industry experts. Asier Rufino, from TECNALIA Ventures – the leading entity of the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator – participated in a panel to discuss key success factors for an impactful deep tech support program.
Rufino emphasised the importance of key capabilities necessary to transform technological excellence into GDP, such as understanding technologies and their potential to create products that solve bottom-line problems with IP protection, building well-rounded teams, developing clear go-to-market strategies, sourcing funding, and maximising non-dilutive funding sources while attracting smart capital. He suggested that “business accelerators, BICs, and Tech Transfer Offices coordinate or promote the creation of professional venture builders.”
Over 200 attendees from various sectors in the innovation ecosystem, including business incubators, accelerators and corporates, participated in the event, which provided an excellent opportunity to discuss and spread the word about our cross-border EU-LAC Digital Accelerator.
